Can Participants Work a Second Job?
Yes, Work & Travel participants can take a second job while in the U.S., but they must follow these rules:
- Their primary job (listed on their DS-2019 form) must remain their priority.
- Participants may not begin working at a second job until it is approved by InterExchange.
- Participants are at-will employees and may leave an employer at any time without recourse.
How to Approve a Second Job:
- Participants enter their second job offer details in their InterExchange account.
- We place the participant On Review with your business for you to confirm the offer details.
- If you haven't completed a Host Employer Application for the season, you’ll need to do so.
- Once InterExchange approves the job, the participant will receive an email to sign and approve the offer.
📌 Important: Participants cannot start working at any job until InterExchange approves the offer. You can check approved job offers under the Hired section of your account.
If a participant does not follow these rules, their program is at risk of termination.
