# I Want to Return Home Early?
## You can end your program early at any time, but you'll no longer be able to work in the U.S.
If you want to shorten your program you’ll click on the ‘Begin Travel Period’ button on your dashboard on your last day of work. **Make sure you have given your employer at least two weeks notice before making this change to your program.** Please read these guidelines carefully before starting your 30 day travel period.
- The last day you can work legally in the US can be found in Box 3. on your DS-2019 form.
- You must return home prior to the start date of your university or college.
- We do not recommend that you travel beyond the U.S. borders, as you will not be permitted re-entry.
- Carry all your documents and have copies of the originals: DS-2019, Visa, Passport, I-94, and SSN.
- InterExchange strongly encourages all participants to have insurance coverage during their additional travel period. If you would like to extend your insurance coverage, please contact us at worktravel@interexchange.org for more information.
