Understanding if your employer provides housing or if you need to find your own.

Some employers offer housing or assist with recommendations.

It depends on the employer. Most will be able to make suggestions and answer questions about the local area, but they probably cannot actually find or offer you a place to live. Don’t hesitate to ask your employer questions about housing in the area, the general costs, or other local resources they can recommend.

Before assuming your employer provides housing: 

  • Ask if they offer employee housing or have a housing guide. 
  • Check if housing costs are deducted from your paycheck.
  • Confirm if employer housing is mandatory or optional.
  • If no housing is provided, use trusted resources to find housing nearby.
