How do I decline or withdraw my IEC application?

Decline your invitation if you can, or withdraw if you're past that point, then start a new profile.

If you haven't accepted your Invitation to Apply (ITA), decline it. If you're past that point, you'll need to withdraw your application instead.

Declining. Follow IRCC's instructions for invitations to apply. Then send us proof, such as the PDF letter in your GCKey account or a screenshot.

Withdrawing. Follow IRCC's instructions to withdraw an application and send us proof once it's done. IRCC can take several weeks to process a withdrawal.

Starting again

  1. Create a new IEC profile, following our 2026 IEC Working Holiday application instructions exactly.
  2. Complete Steps 1�3 of the instructions.
  3. We renominate you, and you'll get a new ITA.

We can only nominate you a maximum of twice during the program season.

If you don't start your work permit application within 10 days of getting your ITA, your profile is removed, and you have to wait two business days before you can submit a new one.
