Where can I learn French in Montreal or Quebec?
Free government courses, meetups and immersion programs.
The Quebec government offers free and reimbursable French courses. There are also plenty of informal and immersive options:
- Montr�al French language Meetups: regular get-togethers in caf�s, parks and restaurants to practice French informally.
- Tandem language exchange in Quebec City: pair up with local francophones through the Tandem app for in-person or virtual conversation practice.
- Alliance Fran�aise de Montr�al summer immersion: 25 hours a week, with 15 hours in the classroom and 10 hours of cultural outings in Old Montr�al.
- Edu-Inter adult programs and volunteer track: learn French and volunteer, year-round for all ages. Classes are 15 hours a week, plus 10�20 hours of volunteer work in community placements.
